KUALA LUMPUR, 26 September – The IIUM Graduate School of Management officially launched GSM INSPIRE (Integrated Network for Strategic Partnership, Impact and Relationship Excellence) at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur, bringing together about 100 alumni, industry partners, university representatives, students and members of the GSM community. The event was officiated by Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain, President of the International Islamic University Malaysia. The launch also saw the appointment of the inaugural eight GSM INSPIRE Ambassadors and the presentation of the first GSM LEADS Scholarships to four recipients. GSM INSPIRE was established as a structured platform to strengthen GSM’s engagement with its alumni and industry partners, while creating meaningful opportunities for them to contribute their experience, expertise and professional networks to GSM. The initiative is built around four pillars: INSPIRE Connect, INSPIRE Ambassadors, INSPIRE Advisory Board and INSPIRE Industrial Partners. Together, the four pillars provide avenues for alumni networking and ukhuwah, alumni representation and outreach, advisory input from alumni and industry professionals, and formal collaboration in areas such as student consultancy, industry exposure, professional engagement, research, training and executive education. On 26 September 2026, the IIUM GSM LEADS Scholarship was officially officiated by the President of IIUM, Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain, marking an important step in IIUM Graduate School of Management’s commitment to supporting deserving students and nurturing future leaders. For Semester 1, 2026/2027 four students have been selected as scholarship recipients: Muhammad Zharif bin Mazli (MBA) Mohd Zulkarami bin Rameli @ Ramli (MBA) Muhammad Uwais Parakkadavil (MBA) Madiha Muzaffar (MMGT) As part of the initiative, the IIUM GSM LEADS Scholarship Crowdfunding Initiative was introduced through the IIUM GSM INSPIRE Programme, inviting alumni to support deserving students through voluntary contributions. The initiative aims to raise RM20,000, complementing IIUM GSM’s existing RM150,000 scholarship allocation, bringing the total scholarship fund to RM170,000. All funds raised will be channelled exclusively to the IIUM GSM LEADS Scholarship to provide financial assistance to eligible students.
